Kid's Saturday Cooking Class
fun for boys and girls both!

Kid's Cooking Classes are popular too.

Jo's 30 years in education prepped her well for teaching cooking skills to children as well as adults!
The Instructor
Jo began cooking when she was 12 years old. She learned to make layer cakes from “scratch” from her aunt, with whom she lived in Galveston, Texas. She grew up loving to cook, and as the bride of a young Air Force officer, she also learned to love entertaining.
During 20 years of military life and entertaining, she became an accomplished cook and baker. As her family grew, all five children learned cooking at their parents’ side, whether at home or in the scout troops that both their parents helped lead. Cooking became a Moore habit, whether in scouts, social events, or for big church fundraisers. Even as a graduate student studying in Mexico, Jo assumed the role of cook and organized American-style barbecues for homesick classmates!
As an educator, Jo used her talents to make learning more enjoyable for her students, and her class often celebrated special units of study by cooking and sharing with their parents. She also taught Spanish for several years at the local college. During that time she had her adult students come to her home for an authentic dinner at the end of each semester. After 29 years of teaching, Jo retired and by then had already begun a part-time catering business.
Since 1995, her small business has evolved to include a beautiful, new, Northwest-style lodge with an enormous professional and teaching kitchen, and a lovely dining room to serve her home-cooked meals.
Jo especially invites people to form their own groups of 5 or 6, and decide what they would like most to learn. These customized classes can be formed whenever there is an open date and the group can come. The cost of a full day of classes (9 am-2 pm) including lunch and take-home products is $60, while a three-hour class including morning snack and take-home products is $40 per person.
