The High County Inn - The Perfect Campsite for Lewis & Clark Explorers

The High Country Inn is located amongst the greatest concentration of Lewis & Clark sites in the nationThe High Country Inn is located amongst the greatest concentration of Lewis & Clark sites in the nation - many of which appear much as they did 200 years ago. The Inn overlooks Canoe Camp, is within ten miles of Mosquitoe Creek, the Saddle Cache, Twisted Hair's Fishing Island, and the river crossing near Rock Dam Creek. Widen the circle another twenty miles and you can visit Cannister Camp, the Weippe Prairie, Treaty Council Camp, and Long Camp-the third longest stay of the entire expedition! The Inn also provides a great staging site for the Lolo Trail or the perfect place to end your journey Crossing the Bitterroots from Travelers' Rest to Canoe Camp.

These passengers get off the ship near Clarkston, Washington, and board a bus for an exciting Lewis and Clark tour during spring and fall months. They stop at several sites near Orofino, and I meet them with my homemade biscotti and fresh coffee! (Lewis and Clark never had it so good!)
